Jozani
Credit Development Organization (JOCDO) was established in 2003 and officially
registered in October 7th, 2003 under the Zanzibar civil societies Act No.6 of
1995. The JOCDO is a non-governmental organization that originated from the
Village Savings and Loans (VSL) groups which was initiated as part of the
Jozani – Chwaka Bay Conservation project (JCBCP) on Unguja Island, implemented
by CARE International in Tanzania Zanzibar, in close collaboration with the
Ministry of Agriculture Zanzibar and the Jozani Environmental Conservation Association (JECA). JOCDO replaced JECA in the work of group formation and provision of trainings in the Village Savings and Loan (VSL) scheme. JOCDO’s operations currently covers more than 40 shehia’s of South, Central, West, North and Urban Districts of Unguja .

To have an economically self Sustained Community
that lives, harmoniously with their environment and good health.
MISSION
To form and strengthen Savings & Credit and
income Generation Groups, provide Environmental conservation support, Education
and Awareness creation on HIV/AIDS Prevention.
